A.S.S.A. SCC was formed on 29/01/1975 in order to represent the interests of contractors associated in the leather and hide production sector.
The presence of contractors in the leather industry characterizes the industrial district of Santa Croce S/A (PI), a district consisting of about 350 tanning companies and 250 contractors, mainly specialized in the mechanical phases of leather processing. The productive decentralization, in particular, shall be attributed to determined factors, such as:
A) less investments by tannery;
B) improvements in machinery use;
C) guarantee for the tannery clients to be able to count on the presence of all kinds of machinery and therefore to produce the required article in a short time and at competitive costs;
D) high professionalism of the contractor who specializes in one or more stages of the production process;
On 15/11/1990, A.S.S.A. opened the membership base also to other companies that weren’t closely linked to to the hide and leather tanning chain but, anyways, belonging to the industry. From a cooperative society to the current legal form of a consortium cooperative society. A.S.S.A. SCC currently provides its members with the following services:
A) information via the circular service;
B) trade union representation in employment relations;
C) establishment of groups for the purchase of goods and services;
D) representation of members at the various institutional tables;
E) use of interbranch funds in order to continuing training at work;
F) 4.0 industry desk;
G) patronage service and credit desk in collaboration with CNA Pisa;
H) organization of safety training courses in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/08.
